THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS' NEST

The final book of Stieg Larsson's trilogy comes out today! I can't wait to get my hands on it! I know I'll start reading it as soon as I get home from work; so it's good that I'm just about finished with "In the Woods."

Okay, should I read this trilogy? And why?

Yes!
Well, I'm of Swedish stock (.75) and am partial to most things Swedish.
That said, the now-deceased author was the second-bestselling author in the world in 2008, with more than 20 million copies in 41 countries. This third hardback has announced a first printing of 700,000!
Larsson was a journalist best known for his struggles against right-wing extremism, racism, and sexism. As the Washington Post Book World writes, "Larsson was a dedicated Leftist, and ultimately his trilogy is best understood as a sprawling, angry political novel set in Sweden, but confronting issues that resonate throughout the western world."
Combine his strong political message and suspense with two very interesting and likeable main characters, the trilogy is a very satisfying read.
ps I'm so excited that you posted on my blog! Seriously! Thanks!
