It's Been A While

Losing Zorro, last year, was tough. We are of Scandinavian descent; we don't where our hearts on our sleeves. We hold our feelings in. We become depressed. We do not feel up to dealing with day-to-day issues and tasks - let alone sitting down to write.

But it's an election year. We have to find our voice to support the positives, and rail against the negatives.

All we can do is try.

RESCUE INK

You've never met a rescue group like Rescue Ink™ - an army of tattooed, motorcycle-riding street guys who have zero tolerance for animal abuse and neglect. They think abusers are losers, and they have no problem "educating" them about the error of their ways. They aren't angels, and they've made plenty of mistakes in their lives; but we've been given a second chance. And we think neglected and abused animals deserve one, too.

Please help them enforce the organization's mission by purchasing Rescue Ink™ merchandise, donating and/or attend Rescue Ink™ Events.

ZORRO HAS GONE TO THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

It is with a terribly sad heart that I tell you all that I have lost my little boy, Zorro, today.

We had a vet appointment this morning, because his desire to eat was becoming more erratic. Dr. Whisler said that Zorro was retaining a great deal of fluid in his abdomen, probably due to liver failure. He said that he could do a test and put him on diuretics, but Zorro would be very difficult to regulate because of the urinary issues associated with his diabetes. He said we should probably be "preparing ourselves."

I did not want to put little Zorro through any more trauma. It's been hard to watch this food-crazy Corgi boy not want the food put in front of him, and going down hill.

He was my heart dog, my baby. I miss him so much. I hope he finds his brothers Grover and Jordan, and his many friends waiting for him at the Bridge.

Love to you, my precious little Zorro!
